The New York Times in the article Quickly Zeroing In on New Places to Call Home, reviewed the leading apps at that time, Real Estate by Zillow and Zillow Real Estate, Real Estate by Trulia, and Redfin Real Estate.

Historic Annapolis is a great place to celebrate the Fourth of July. Here are some FUN, FREE events happening around Annapolis this week.

Annapolis July 4th Parade, Thursday July 4, 2013, 6:30 pm, FREE.

U.S. Naval Academy Band Independence Day Concert, Thursday, July 4, 2013, 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Susan B. Campbell Park at City Dock, FREE.  Further details from the USNA calendar:

The United States Naval Academy Band, “The Navy’s Oldest and Finest”, will present a free Independence Day concert at the Annapolis City Dock’s Susan B. Campbell Park on Thursday, July 4 at 8:00 p.m. The city of Annapolis will launch a spectacular fireworks display immediately following the concert. The Concert Band is comprised of some of the nation’s finest musicians. The ensemble performs a year-round public concert series featuring varied programs of marches, orchestral transcriptions, patriotic music, and class wind band repertoire. All concerts by the Naval Academy Band are free and open to the public with no tickets required. Susan B. Campbell Park is located at 1 Dock Street in Annapolis, MD. Annapolis Fireworks, around 9:15 p.m., Annapolis Harbor, FREE

Here are further details on the Annapolis 4th of July 2013 Parade and Fireworks, from the City of Annapolis web site:

Annapolis Mayor Joshua J. Cohen invites all residents to the Annapolis 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4.  The parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Amos Garrett Blvd. and proceed down West Street, around Church Circle, and down Main Street.

The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15 p.m. The fireworks display will be launched from a barge in the Annapolis Harbor and can be viewed from many water locations.  For questions about boat restrictions during the fireworks, contact the City Harbormaster’s Office at 410-263-7973.

For those viewing the fireworks from land, Susan Campbell Park has a fantastic view, but it is also the most crowded.  Views from Main Street and the Harbormaster’s Building area will be partially obstructed. Suggested viewing areas are public spaces northeast of the Severn River or any of the street-end parks facing Spa Creek.

Spa Creek Bridge will be closed to traffic at 9 p.m. to create a spectator pier overlook offering an unobstructed view of the fireworks.

The closer you get to downtown the harder it will be to park and get out after the celebration. Park in the Park Place Garage or the Knighton Garage for a maximum of only $10 a day, or $2 an hour,  and  take the FREE Circulator trolley down to Church Circle, a short walk to City Dock.  An added bonus is both garages are on the parade route! And, for more fun next weekend, the 2013 Summer Concert Series begins at Quiet Waters Park!  On Saturday, July 13th the Anthony Swampdog Clark Band will be playing Blues Music from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Admission to the park is free for concert-goers starting at 5 pm.  Bring your lawn chairs or picnic blankets to this fun community event.  The weekly concerts will continue through September 1st.

Also, everyone’s talking about the stock market gyrations – it’s exciting that the market is up now, yet who knows what’s next?  Some folks are moving their money out of stocks, and a property like this might be a good place to park it.  Or, it could be a good place for a first-time buyer or someone looking to downsize.
